ABOUT

Bluff Mountain Preserve consists of approximately 2,913 acres in southwest-central Ashe County, in Creston, Old Fields, & West Jefferson Townships (Figures 2 and 3). It is located approximately 3.5 miles west of West Jefferson, 13 miles north-northeast of Boone, 15 miles east-southeast of Mountain City, TN, and 78 miles northeast of Asheville. The preserve is bounded to the north by West Buffalo Road and private lands in the West Jefferson Township. It is bounded on the east by private lands in the West Jefferson & Old Fields Townships.  It is bounded to the south by private lands in the Old Fields & Creston Townships. It is bounded to the west by a lateral ridge of Bluff Mountain and private lands in the Creston & West Jefferson Townships.
