Welcome to one of last remaining great places in the Southern Appalachian Mountains. This is Bluff Mountain.
From a floristically-distinct fen situated atop on a plateau at 4400′ elevation, the only one of its kind in North Carolina, to it’s gorgeous Carolina Hemlock Bluff for which the mountain is named. Bluff is home a very high number of rare plants species, and at least three natural community types known only from this preserve.
